The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Maricopa County in south central Arizona...

* Until 215 PM MST.

* At 130 PM MST, a severe thunderstorm was located over Scottsdale,
  moving north at 35 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Trained weather spotters.

  IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage 
           to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Phoenix, Scottsdale, New River, Cave Creek, Carefree, Desert
  Mountain, Scottsdale Airport, Desert Ridge Marketplace, Camp Creek,
  Horseshoe Reservoir, Sunset Mountain, and Seven Springs.

This includes the following highways...
AZ Route 51 between mile markers 12 and 15.
AZ Route 101 between mile markers 26 and 41.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning
are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is
one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder,
you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
