The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Eastern Jo Daviess County in northwestern Illinois...
  Stephenson County in northwestern Illinois...

* Until 845 PM CDT.

* At 724 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
  extending from near Apple River Canyon State Park to near Elmoville
  to near Camp Far Horizons, moving east at 45 mph.

  HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to 
           mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include...
  Freeport, Lena, Stockton, Warren, Pearl City, Elizabeth,
  Cedarville, Davis, Woodbine, Dakota, German Valley, Apple River,
  Winslow, Rock City, Ridott, Nora, Schapville, Massbach, Buena
  Vista, and Loran.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
sturdy building.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for northwestern
Illinois.
