The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Eastern Mercer County in northwestern Illinois...
  Southwestern Henry County in northwestern Illinois...

* Until 700 PM CDT.

* At 622 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Griffin, or
  12 miles east of Aledo, moving northeast at 35 mph.

  HAZARD...Golf ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail 
           damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect 
           wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Cambridge, Burgess, Orion, Viola, Woodhull, Alpha, Sherrard,
  Andover, North Henderson, Cable, New Windsor, Lynn Center, Alexis,
  Osco, Henry County Fairgrounds, Ophiem, Swedona, Sunny Hill,
  Griffin, and Morristown.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 80 in Illinois between mile markers 11 and 15.
 Interstate 74 in Illinois between mile markers 15 and 33.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
sturdy building.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for northwestern
and west central Illinois.
