The National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
  Northeastern Monroe County in southeastern Michigan...

* Until 630 PM EDT.

* At 603 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
  was located over Monroe, moving northeast at 45 mph.

  HAZARD...Tornado.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. 
           Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree 
           damage is likely.

* This dangerous storm will be near...
  Monroe around 610 PM EDT.

Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include
Newport, Estral Beach, South Rockwood, Woodland Beach, Stony Point,
Detroit Beach, and Rockwood.

This includes the following highways...
 I-75 between mile markers 14 and 26.
 I-275 between mile markers 1 and 2.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.

This cluster of thunderstorms is capable of producing tornadoes and 
significant wind damage. Do not wait to see or hear the tornado. For 
your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a 
building.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
