...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1230 PM CDT
FOR SOUTHWESTERN ROCK ISLAND...NORTHWESTERN MERCER...CEDAR...SCOTT...
MUSCATINE AND SOUTHWESTERN CLINTON COUNTIES...

At 1154 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Mechanicsville to Sunbury to near Illinois City,
moving northeast at 55 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Trained weather spotters.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Davenport, Moline, Rock Island, Bettendorf, Muscatine, East Moline,
Tipton, West Branch, Durant, Silvis, Eldridge, Milan, West Liberty,
Wilton, Walcott, Blue Grass, Buffalo, Andalusia, Long Grove, and
Lowden.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 74 in Iowa between mile markers 1 and 5.
 Interstate 80 in Iowa between mile markers 254 and 302.
 Interstate 74 in Illinois between mile markers 1 and 4.
 Interstate 280 between mile markers 1 and 18.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. People outside
should move to a shelter, inside a strong building and away from
windows.

Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
