...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 530 PM CDT
FOR NORTHEASTERN RAWLINS...WEST CENTRAL DECATUR AND SOUTHERN
HITCHCOCK COUNTIES...

At 515 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 9 miles south of Stratton to 4 miles southeast of
Ludell, moving southeast at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Tennis ball size hail and 70 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Trained weather spottersreported power poles being blown 
         over north of Atwood.

IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail 
         damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect 
         considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to 
         mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

These severe storms will be near...
  Atwood and Ludell around 520 PM CDT.

Other locations impacted by these severe thunderstorms include Traer
and Blakeman.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for northwestern
Kansas...and southwestern Nebraska.

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
