FOR SOUTHEASTERN EVANGELINE...NORTH CENTRAL ACADIA...AVOYELLES AND
ST. LANDRY PARISHES...

At 956 PM CST, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Walters to near Dupont to near Grand Prairie,
moving east at 45 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Opelousas, Eunice, Ville Platte, Marksville, Bunkie, Simmesport,
Krotz Springs, Leonville, Melville, Moreauville, Palmetto,
Bordelonville, Bayou Current, Morrow, Port Barre, Cottonport,
Mansura, Washington, Hessmer, and Chataignier.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 200 AM CST for central, south
central and southwestern Louisiana.

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into a
small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
