...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1030 PM CST
FOR SOUTHEASTERN AVOYELLES AND ST. LANDRY PARISHES...

At 1015 PM CST, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Monterey to near Lettsworth to near Palmetto,
moving east at 45 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Opelousas, Simmesport, Krotz Springs, Leonville, Melville, Palmetto,
Bayou Current, Port Barre, Washington, Prairie Ronde, Lawtell, Big
Cane, Dupont, Big Bend, and Lebeau.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 200 AM CST for central, south
central and southwestern Louisiana.

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into a
small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
