...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 545 PM CDT
FOR ATCHISON COUNTY...

At 525 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Coin to near Shubert, moving northeast at 40 mph.

HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and ping pong ball size hail.

SOURCE...Automated weather station.

IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail 
         damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect 
         considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to 
         mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

Locations impacted include...
Tarkio, Rock Port, Fairfax, Blanchard, Westboro, Watson, Indian Cave
State Park, and Phelps City.

This includes Interstate 29 between mile markers 99 and 117.
 
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for northwestern
Missouri.

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

This is an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION with tornado like wind
speeds expected. Mobile homes and high profile vehicles are
especially susceptible to winds of this magnitude and may be
overturned. For your protection move to an interior room on the
lowest floor of a building. These storms have the potential to cause
serious injury and significant property damage.
