...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1230 AM CST
FOR CENTRAL CLAY...WESTERN RAY...SOUTHWESTERN LAFAYETTE AND CENTRAL
JACKSON COUNTIES...

At 1200 AM CST, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Liberty to River Bend to near Lee's Summit,
moving east at 50 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Kansas City, Independence, Lee's Summit, Blue Springs, Raytown,
Liberty, Grain Valley, Excelsior Springs, Kearney, Oak Grove, Odessa,
Sugar Creek, Buckner, Lake Lotawana, Claycomo, Courtney, Pleasant
Valley, Orrick, Wellington, and Lake Tapawingo.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 70 in Missouri between mile markers 9 and 37.
 Interstate 35 in Missouri between mile markers 12 and 25.
 Interstate 470 between mile markers 5 and 16.
 Interstate 435 between mile markers 44 and 54, and between mile
markers 58 and 59.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 100 AM CST for west central
Missouri. A Tornado Watch also remains in effect until 400 AM CST for
west central Missouri.

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
