Amateur Radio Satellites
Amateur radio enterred the space age when OSCAR-1 was launched in 1961. Since then, amateurs from more than 22 different countries have launched over 70 satellites, exploring both digital and analog satellite technology. Some operate FM and can actually be worked using a dual-band HT. Many amateur radio operators already have most of the equipment needed to work these "birds". But, you do need to know their operating frequencies and when they will be overhead in order to work them. This web page provides all the information you need top get started.
